How To Double IVF Success Rate
You've selected your chosen clinic after a huge amount of research and you feel good about your choice.
They've given you your predicted chances of success and no matter what that figure is, you are scared that you won't be one of the lucky ones and that you will fall on the wrong side of this statistic.
You and your partner have done everything possible to get yourselves in the best physical state you can and you feel that there is nothing more that you can do. You feel that your chances of becoming a mum and dad are now fully in the hands of your medical care team.

It is so sh*t isn't it? So bloody unfair and hard physically, mentally and emotionally. Then some clever so and so tells you to relax. Arghhhhh! Actually, slapping them round the face for their ignorance could be a useful way of getting rid of some of the stress and tension, but maybe not the most appropriate.
Is there more you can do though to help your chances of success?
According to a team from Soroka University, Israel, yes there is. Accept that it is going to hurt if your IVF cycle fails.
I know this sounds like odd advice but actually what I see a lot with my clients is this pretence that it's ok if their IVF Cycle isn't successful. I call bullsh*t on that. Not getting your hopes up does not stop it hurting if your IVF cycle fails. Instead though your mind is giving very mixed messages to your body about what you want to happen.
Once you've accepted that it will hurt if it fails, I want you then to....
Acknowledge that you can handle the pain if it happens.
You might be asking yourself, how do I know that you can handle it when I don't know you. The answer is that EVERYONE has to deal with sh*t, it's a part of life and no-one can escape it. And here's the thing. When sh*t turns up we have to get on and deal with it. We might not want to but we do because we have no choice. Then one day we realise that we've worked through all the sh*t and we've come out the other side having handled it.
Acknowledging this is important because then you can...
Focus on success without putting pressure on it having to work.
This may sound hard to do however, once you've accepted that it will hurt if you fail and at the same time acknowledged that you can handle the worst if it happens, then you don't have to use up the power of your mind worrying about these things.
Instead you can...
Use the power of your mind to send all the right messages to your body.
This is kind of where the Soroka University research comes in but more so, because I am not just suggesting you listen to something to help you relax. I am talking about utilising the power of the mind/body connection to actually support each and every step of your IVF journey.
